Today we highlight 'Keira Knightley'

Keira Christina Knightley (pronounced /ˌkɪərəˈnaɪtlɪ/;born 26 March 1985) is an English film actress. She began her career as a child and came to international prominence in 2003 after co-starring in the films Bend It Like Beckham and the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.

Knightley has appeared in several Hollywood films and earned nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actress and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in Joe Wright's 2005 adaptation of Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice. Two years later she again was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, as well as the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Atonement.

In 2008, Forbes claimed Knightley to be the second highest paid actress in Hollywood (behind Cameron Diaz), having reportedly earned $32 million in 2007, making her the only non-American person on the list of highest paid actors or actresses.

Paramount Pictures Casting 'Transformers 3'

Transformers is a 2007 live-action-thriller film adaptation of the Transformers franchise, directed by Michael Bay and written by John Rogers, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. It stars Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, a teenager involved in a war between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, two factions of alien robots who can disguise themselves by transforming into everyday machinery. The Decepticons desire control of the All Spark, the object that created their robotic race, with the intention of using it to build an army by giving life to the machines of Earth.

Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight, Anthony Anderson and John Turturro also star, while voice-actors Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving voice Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively.

Producers Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto developed the project in 2003, with a treatment written by DeSanto. Executive producer Steven Spielberg came on board the following year, hiring Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The United States Military and General Motors loaned vehicles and aircraft during filming, which saved money for the production and added realism to the battle scenes. Hasbro organized an enormous promotional campaign for the film, making deals with hundreds of companies. This advertising blitz included a viral marketing campaign, coordinated releases of prequel comic books, toys and books, as well as product placement deals with GM and eBay.

Transformers was a box office success despite mixed critical reaction to the radical redesigns of the characters, and reviews criticizing the focus on the humans at the expense of the robots. It is the thirty-fourth most successful film released and the fifth most successful of 2007, grossing approximately US$709 million worldwide. The film won four awards from the Visual Effects Society and was nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound Editing. It became the first in a series of films and revitalized media interest in the Transformers franchise. On November 5, 2010, it has double features with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 3-D.

Casting roles for a new scripted TV pilot from ABC Family
Looking for talented PLUS SIZE kids to play 15 - 16 year olds
Actors may be older but must be believable as 15 - 16 year olds

[WILHELMINA] Significantly overweight. Age 16, a rebel. Intelligent, ballsy, funny and opinionated. She hides her vulnerability behind her humor and brash attitude. Dresses in a tomboy-ish, punk style. Doesn’t let people get too close, and is definitely not thrilled when her rich parents send her to a fat camp for the summer. MUST SING WELL.

[AMBER] Age 16. A beautiful size 12 – (or thereabouts -- could be a 14 or even 16 depending on the person)The skinniest and hottest girl at fat camp, this teen is curvy, but in her own warped view, she considers herself very heavy. Amber comes off as superficial, obsessed with weight and appearance -- but she’s incredibly vulnerable underneath.

[BRIAN] Overweight. Age 16. A cute, sensitive indie musician with glasses. Open and friendly, with a charmingly self-deprecating sense of humor. He feels an immediate bond with Wilhelmina, but he wastes most of their summer together pining after Amber. However, when he finally does get a chance with Amber, he realizes that it's actually Wilhelmina he really wants. MUST PLAY GUITAR, PIANO or DRUMS.

[JANEANE] Overweight. Age 15 or 16. Her style is goth/Renaissance Faire. A shy bookworm, Janeane expresses herself through LARPing (Live Action Role Play.) Janeane instantly admires Wilhelmina, and the two become partners in pranking Amber, whom they mutually dislike. Later, however, when Wilhelmina befriends Amber, Janeane feels rejected and betrayed.

[PHILIP] Very heavy – the heaviest kid at camp (or in the running.) Age 15, Philip’s sweet, super friendly, a little needy. Also obsessed with sex and giving advice. A severe asthmatic, he has trouble completing the rigorous exercise regiment at the camp -- but he keeps plugging away, undaunted and unfazed.

[CAITLIN] This camper is the leader among the thinner girls at fat camp. Cool and confident (despite her slight overweight.) She hides some dark secrets beneath her confident exterior.

STORY LINE: A reluctant participant at a summer camp for plus sized kids, defiantly overweight WILHELMINA clashes with AMBER, the size 12 hottie who lords it over the bigger girls. But during the course of the summer, the two sworn enemies begin to realize they have more in common than they ever realized…

Los Angeles location production drops in '09

Film permits off 30%, reality TV down 49%
By Carl DiOrio

Jan 14, 2010

The industry erosion continues: On-location production in the Los Angeles area slid 13% in the fourth quarter, yielding a 19% plunge in such shoots in 2009.

Production permit service FilmLA on Thursday unveiled yearly stats showing the sharpest decline since tracking began in 1993. The non-profit group recorded 37,979 permitted production days in 2009, compared to 47,117 in 2008.

"This annual report reinforces the need for the positive steps being taken by the Los Angeles City Council and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to attract more filming to the city," FilmLA president Paul Audley.

City officials recently pledged to step up efforts at easing bureaucracy for locally based productions and to investigate other means of reversing so-called runaway production.

Film production increased in the fourth quarter by 14%, and 21% more commercials were shot on location, but the bigger category of TV shoots were off 33%. Some 35% fewer TV dramas received on-location permits in the latest quarter than a year ago, while sitcom activity fell 11% and on-location reality shoots were off a big 49% and TV pilots 41%.

For the year, film production fell 30%, television 17%, commercials 12% and miscellaneous other categories 21%.

FilmLA said the declines would have been worse if not for California's recent tax-based production incentives.
